How much will my insurance be with a ticket added on?

Arce asked:

I am 16 years of age , live in AR, and a secondary driver on my parents’ insurance. We have State Farm. My insurance is running around $104 a month. Now I got a speeding ticket for 70 in a 40 zone. It’s going on my record, so I was wondering how much my insurance would jump to?

In most cases the premium is not loaded in case of the first ticket, however it would depend upon the insurance company and it differs from company to company.

Secondly you can check out the free car insurance quotes online and find out the cheapest quotes.

You can compare how the insurance quotes would change, for example here – autoinsurance.undonet.com

The best thing you can do is try and take defensive driving to see if you can get the ticket dismissed and not added to your record. I just had a ticket and this works very well. There are alot of online defensive driving courses you can take to get this done easily and not waste a saturday. Now the question is why in the world are you with State Farm. They just had a study come out and they were voted as one of the worst insurance companies in the U.S. I have known great people that worked for them, but if you have a wreck those friendly local agents have less sway than you do. If I were you I would take defensive driving and then do some shopping for another carrier and possibly save yourself some money. There are alot of website out there who claim to have online comparisons, but most of them sell your information to call centers who blow up your phone like crazy. The best site I have found is. Good luck and dont just take the ticket..it could potentially raise your premium by 50-75%!
