I have heard that businesses will no longer need to supply you with insurance after five years, we will all have the same health coverage and that we will all be taxed steeply to help pay for those who do not have insurance. Our current health insurance is so great that I hate to see it be ruined by the plan.

Explain to me how if private insurance companies are forced to cover people with preexisting illnesses and not allowed to discriminate on a variety of factors, costs go down.

I’ve read up on insurance policies and found that ones that have high deductibles and low premiums are good for the young and healthy, but what happens if the unexpected happens (not death, but a serious illness or surgery)? Is there a type of insurance for that or some kind of account (mutual fund, etc.) that can be set up for that?

The insurance companies can then just charge as much as they want to people that have expensive preexisting medical conditions. For example you have diabetes, you go to get insurance, the company says sure we would love to insure you for 1000/month. Who can afford that? The government would have to also tell the insurance companies how much they are allowed to charge for it to help any.
