Will Progressive insurance cover an accident if the driver of the vehicle has a suspended license?

Friday, March 25th, 2011
cmd2009unl asked:

I was in an accident yesterday, and the owners of the vehicle at fault (the other people) have Progressive insurance. The driver of the vehicle, who was not on the insurance policy, had a suspended license. Will Progressive still cover the costs of the accident?

Additional info: Both cars were totaled and my passenger and I went to the hospital for neck and back pains. The driver of the Progressive vehicle and her two kids are/were fine and needed no medical attention. Both vehicles are totaled.
We both have “liability” insurance plans.

Once an insurance company encashes my premium cheque, from when should the risk start?

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009
ncpadmanabhan asked:

I have issued a cheque towards first year premium along with the proposal for insurance. The cheque dated the first of the month has been encashed by the insurance company on the third of the month. But they have issued the insurance policy only on the 19th of the month with the date of starting of risk shown as the 22nd of the month. As my cheque for the premium amount has been encashed on the third of the month itself, is not the insurance company liable to cover the risk from the date of encashment of the cheque? Does not the encashment of my cheque and crediting it to the insurance company’s account signify that they have accepted the risk from that date itself?
